"If You See Me On The Block"

This is a detail of a self portrait quilt currently hanging in th Stitching Our Stories Exhibit at the Countee Cullen Library in Harlem. It is pieced, appliqued and quilted by machine. (details for the exhibit below)

Stitching Our Stories: Quilt Art by Our Community's Children


This exhibit will be at the Countee Cullen library, 104 West 136th Street, Harlem, from June 20th thru August 26th 2007. You will see various quilts by PS 123 who I have worked with over the last 3 years as well other school's quilts and work by Harlem Girls Quilting Circle members. The quilts can be view from 2-5:30pm on Mon., Tues., Thur., andFri., 2-7:30pm on Wed. and 1-4pm on Sat.. To the left is a student quilt named Our Harlem which is on the event postcard but is not currently hanging in the exhibit. This is a great exhibit in a great space.
