Gadson Gallery Woven Wear

By now most of you may know I have a forbidden love affair with yarn. I been spending far too much time seeking it out, buying it and then creating with it. From Sheep and Wool festivals to Ebay, I have been hunting down and aquiring interesting fibers. It's taken over the sewing room and almost run me out of my bed room.

Please HELP! I will be feverously working on crocheting up a good amount of items and I need good people to take them off my hands. Coats, Sweaters, Ponchos, Ponchettes and more. FABULOUS FIBERS: a Trunk Show

Since my love affair with yarn and fiber has only increased over the last year I have been knitting and crocheting up a storm. Michelle Bishop and myelf will show and sell our wares at several events this season. We will feature ponchos, wraps, sweaters, bags and more: Sat. Will this Sepia Mama be a Cover Girl?

"The Sepia Grandmother I Never Knew" is a quilt submited to the a national touring exhibit: Quilting African American Women's History: Our challenges, Creativity and Champions. It is being considered for the cover of the book accompanying the exhibit but there was one problem. One of the vintage quilttops used has a print that contains a swastika. When I made the quilt I did not even see it but once it was pointed out it is very noticable. Though this symbol has history far older than Hitler everyone is not as open to this symbols past. Hopefully I will have the chance to correct the issue so my grandma can be a Cover Girl.

Astral Angels Over Dreamland

Astral Angels Over Dreamland is the title of this quilt featuring my twin niece and nephew. This quilt is currently at the New York State Museum in Albany in the "Expressions in Blue Exhibit. It was purchased by Anenoi Brooks during the Harlem Open Artist Studio Tour. I am proud to have my work featured with the many notable African American fine artists in this show.
